Rimadesio Bookcases
Zenit
Zenit is secured between the floor and ceiling using vertical aluminium uprights. It can be positioned against a wall or used as an open shelving divider within a larger room.
The height, width, shelf arrangement and finish are configured for the property. Storage units can also be incorporated where a combination of open display and concealed storage is required.
Because the system depends on accurate floor-to-ceiling dimensions, a site survey and technical design will normally be required.

Wind
Wind is an aluminium bookcase system that can be specified as either a freestanding composition or a wall-mounted arrangement.
Open shelving can be combined with glass-backed sections and enclosed storage modules. This allows frequently used or decorative objects to remain visible while other items are stored behind doors.
The overall dimensions, module arrangement, back panels and finishes are selected to suit the wall, the storage requirement and the visual balance of the room.

Opus
Opus is an open aluminium bookcase formed from repeating square and rectangular sections. Its geometric structure can be built into compositions of different widths and heights, creating anything from a compact display unit to a larger architectural feature.
The arrangement can be planned around books, decorative objects and the proportions of the wall. Its open structure makes it particularly suitable where storage is intended to remain visually light rather than fully enclosed.

Sixty
Sixty is characterised by broad, continuous surfaces and carefully concealed connections between its structural elements. Compared with the more open grid of Opus or the slender shelves of Eos, it has a more substantial and contained appearance.
The size, composition and finish can be selected to suit the available wall and the balance required between storage and display.

Eos
Eos is a wall-mounted shelving system made from slim 8 mm lacquered-glass shelves with aluminium structural elements. The fixings are concealed, giving the composition a light appearance against the wall.
Individual shelves can be arranged to create a compact display or a wider composition for books, objects and artwork. The layout, shelf lengths and finishes are selected in response to the wall dimensions and intended use.
From shelving system to finished installation
Rimadesio bookcases are not all selected in the same way. A smaller freestanding composition may be relatively straightforward to specify.
Floor-to-ceiling, wall-mounted or larger modular arrangements require more detailed planning.

Do Rimadesio bookcases need to be made to measure?
Some systems are configured around the dimensions of the room. Zenit, for example, uses floor-to-ceiling uprights and therefore requires accurate ceiling-height measurements. Other collections can be assembled from standard modular elements in a composition selected for the available wall.
Can a Rimadesio bookcase be used as a room divider?
Zenit can be positioned away from a wall and used as an open shelving divider, subject to the dimensions, fixing conditions and layout of the room.
Can closed storage be included?
Some collections allow open shelves to be combined with enclosed storage modules, drawers or glass-backed sections. The available options depend on the selected system.
Do you provide a survey and installation?
For fitted, wall-mounted and floor-to-ceiling systems, Hobson’s Choice can survey the property, prepare the technical specification and arrange specialist installation. A simpler freestanding composition may require less design work.
Can lighting or media equipment be incorporated?
This depends on the chosen system and composition. Requirements for lighting, televisions, speakers, sockets or concealed cabling should be identified before the order is finalised so they can be coordinated with the furniture and the wider room.
