the brief
Having previously collaborated on their bathroom and bedroom renovation, the clients approached us to redesign their lounge and sunroom areas.
They were particularly impressed with the quality, functionality, and aesthetics of the Rimadesio products installed upstairs and wanted to bring a similarly sleek and modern finish to these spaces.

The Design
A refined palette of matt glass, bronze metal, and walnut veneer
The brief focused on creating a simplified yet sophisticated design that would harmonise with the home’s existing style while incorporating warmth and a connection to nature.
Our design aims to simplify and modernise the lounge and sunroom areas while achieving seamless integration of materials, textures, and finishes.
The Design
A minimalist yet striking display solution.
The transformation of the lounge centred on creating a sleek, functional media wall as the space’s focal point.
Pieter selected a combination of wall-hung Rimadesio Self-storage units and Eos shelves to achieve a minimalist yet practical design.
The matt glass doors, finished in muted tones, were chosen to conceal technology while maintaining a clean and uncluttered look.
These contemporary elements were balanced by light, muted cream and green tones on the walls, complemented by soft olive-green chenille sofas and touches of faux greenery.
This combination softened the clean lines of the contemporary furniture, adding a natural, organic feel to the room.
The Result
Contemporary storage and architectural detailing provide clarity and order.
The lounge and sunroom now function as connected yet distinct environments, spaces designed equally for relaxation, entertaining, and everyday living.
Layout & Flow
The relationship between the lounge and sunroom was fundamentally reworked to improve openness and continuity.
Existing fireplace surrounds and internal doors were removed, allowing the introduction of Rimadesio Soho sliding pocket doors. These create flexibility between the spaces while maintaining uninterrupted flow and visual cohesion throughout the home.
Media Wall & Storage
The lounge is centred around a bespoke media wall, designed to combine minimalism with functionality.
Wall-mounted Rimadesio self-storage units create a floating composition that conceals technology while maintaining a clean architectural appearance. Matt glass doors soften the visual presence of the cabinetry, while integrated walnut details introduce warmth and contrast.
Materials
A refined palette of bronze, walnut, matt glass, and muted natural tones defines the spaces.
These materials are layered carefully to create depth without excess, balancing contemporary detailing with a softer and more inviting atmosphere. Olive and cream tones within the furnishings reinforce the connection to nature and complement the warmth of the walnut finishes.
Lighting & Atmosphere
Lighting plays a significant role throughout the design. Integrated LED strips behind the slatted walnut wall panelling create a soft ambient glow, highlighting the natural grain and introducing warmth during the evening.
Illuminated bronze shelving further enhances the atmosphere, providing subtle accent lighting while showcasing decorative objects and personal items.
Rimadesio Integration
Rimadesio elements provide continuity throughout the project, reinforcing the calm and architectural language established elsewhere in the home.
Bronze Soho sliding pocket doors allow light to filter softly between rooms while maintaining flexibility and privacy when required. Eos shelving systems provide integrated display and storage solutions that feel lightweight and refined.
Furniture & Living
Soft furnishings and decorative accessories were selected to balance the precision of the architectural detailing.
Muted upholstery, layered textures, and handcrafted objects soften the clean lines of the contemporary furniture, creating spaces that feel comfortable, personal, and inviting.
