the brief

A subtle backdrop for lakeside living

After experiencing a friend’s bulthaup kitchen, the clients knew they wanted b3 for their own lakeside home. The kitchen needed to feel visually interesting without overpowering the wider interior, while providing generous preparation space, high-quality appliances and practical storage for keen cooks.

The Design

Designed around the way the kitchen is used

The island is aligned with the tall cabinetry to create efficient movement between cooking, water and storage. Balanced space on either side also helps the kitchen feel composed within the open-plan room.

The Design

Cooking with the lake in sight

The induction hob is positioned on the island facing the water, allowing the clients to enjoy the lakeside outlook while cooking. Large sliding doors strengthen this connection, opening the living space directly onto the deck outside.

Contrast without competing with the view

An Alpine White island creates a light focal point against tall cabinetry in Lava Soft-Touch Lacquer. Walnut inside the pocket-door cupboard adds warmth, while the solid timber breakfast bar introduces another natural element.

Appliances

Gaggenau appliances provide the principal cooking and cooling functions, with the induction hob positioned on the island to face the lake. A Quooker boiling-water tap completes the main working area.
