The Design
Refined engineering
Each piece of the Rimadesio Self Eos system is designed and manufactured specifically for the client’s project.
The slimline aluminium shelves have no visible joins or mounting brackets, appearing to float millimetres from the wall.
The storage unit features glass-fronted push-to-open drawers which glide effortlessly along smooth rails.
The Design
Illuminating the living space
The Self Eos system, finished in bronze, follows a similar design language as the client’s bulthaup b3 kitchen – clean lines and a high-quality finish.
The display needed to accommodate our client’s collection of decorative art pieces, favourite books, and a large flat-screen TV/soundbar. To maintain a balanced appearance on either side of the chimney breast, shorter shelves and framed artwork on the left-hand side countered the TV display.
The Result
The completed installation feels light, elegant, and highly integrated within the architecture of the room.
Slim floating shelves, concealed lighting, and bronze finishes create a calm and sophisticated atmosphere, while the modular arrangement provides both practicality and flexibility for display.
Layout & Composition
The shelving system was designed around the existing chimney breast, creating a balanced arrangement across the wall.
The television and soundbar are integrated into the composition, while shorter shelves and framed artwork on the opposite side help counterbalance the visual weight of the media elements.
This layered approach allows functional and decorative items to coexist naturally within the space.
Shelving & Storage
The Rimadesio Self Eos system combines open shelving with wall-mounted storage to create a clean and adaptable display solution.
Each component is manufactured specifically for the project, ensuring the installation feels precise and fully integrated into the room.
Materials
Bronze finishes were selected to introduce warmth and subtle contrast within the space while maintaining a refined contemporary aesthetic.
Slim aluminium shelving elements reinforce the installation’s lightweight appearance, allowing the structure to feel minimal and architectural.
Lighting
Integrated LED illumination is concealed within the shelving system, creating a soft ambient glow throughout the living area.
This low-level lighting enhances the evening atmosphere while subtly highlighting displayed objects and materials.
Design Detailing
The Self Eos system is defined by its precision and minimal detailing. Shelves appear to float away from the wall, with no visible joins or mounting brackets.
This engineered simplicity allows the composition to feel visually lightweight despite its scale and functionality.
Lifestyle & Display
The installation was designed to support both practical use and personal expression.
Space was carefully allocated for books, artwork, decorative objects, and integrated media, allowing the clients’ collection to become part of the room’s architecture.
