A perfect harmony of texture and tone in this stunning Georgian home.
The clients challenged our designer to create a kitchen that would ‘Wow!’ guests and provide a great cooking experience.
The Design
Designing eye-catching architecture.
All the tall units are floating above the ground, even those that hold heavy appliances like the fridge and freezer.
The bulthaup b3 kitchen system provides this gravity-defying opportunity, a true feat of structural engineering and material strength.
Narrow stainless steel legs lift the island to match the height of the wall units, giving the impression that the whole kitchen is lighter than air.
The Design
Luxury is in the details.
Above the island, eye-catching sculptural Brokis pendant lights illuminate the space.
The Yukon polished stone island worktop is full of pattern and detail, contrasting perfectly with the gravel surfaces of the handleless fronts. The black colour of the flush-fitted BORA Professional induction cooktop is carried across to the Quooker boiling hot water tap and sink.
The Result
The space supports everyday family life as well as entertaining, with an impressive yet effortless kitchen.
Layout & Flow
The kitchen is centred around a large island, which defines the working zone while maintaining a clear division between cooking and dining areas.
Positioned to face the bay window, the island allows the cook to remain connected to both the room and the exterior, enhancing light and engagement within the space.
Island & Focal Elements
The island acts as a central feature, both functionally and visually. Its polished Yukon stone worktop introduces depth and movement, contrasting with the more restrained cabinetry.
Above, sculptural pendant lighting adds another layer of interest, reinforcing the island as the heart of the space.
Materials
A carefully balanced palette combines Gravel and Flint laminate finishes with Black-brown oak veneer, creating contrast and depth.
The polished stone worktop adds a tactile, expressive surface, while stainless steel detailing introduces a refined, contemporary edge.
Cabinetry & Joinery
The bulthaup b3 system allows for the distinctive floating effect seen throughout the kitchen. Tall units are lifted from the floor, even when housing heavy appliances, creating a sense of visual lightness.
Additional detailing includes oak-veneer interiors in pocket-door units and integrated E-grip rails, reinforcing both functionality and material consistency.
Appliances & Functionality
Appliances are seamlessly integrated to support both performance and aesthetics. Miele ovens and Liebherr cooling provide advanced functionality, while a BORA Professional induction cooktop with downdraft extraction maintains clear sightlines.
A Quooker tap adds further convenience, supporting everyday use without compromising the clean design.
Feature Elements
The bespoke glass splashback artwork by Red Dog Glass is a defining element of the space. Positioned to be immediately visible on entry, it creates a strong visual anchor and introduces colour, texture, and individuality to the scheme. surrounding landscape.
